Our Commitment to Justice and Peace
The Justice and Peace Office of the Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis is an expression of the healing mission of the Sisters. The office coordinates, promotes and develops programs and activities that inform, inspire and involve the Sisters, Lay Associates and others in the ministry of Justice and Peace.

Guided by the Gospel of Jesus, Catholic Social Teaching, Franciscan Spirituality and the documents of the Hospital Sisters, the office provides resources, education, advocacy strategies and networking opportunities. We seek to promote human dignity and respect for all creation, while providing a voice for those who are poor, oppressed, victimized or marginalized. We cultivate attitudes and behaviors of nonviolence.

Sr. Maureen Irvin, OSF has served as our Justice and Peace Coordinator since 2004.
