Pre-Novitiate
The Pre-Novitiate phase, usually 1 to 2 years, is a time of orientation
for the candidate to our Franciscan way of life in Community. During the
pre-novitiate she shares in our prayer life, community life and ministry.

Novitiate - 2 Years
The first year of Novitiate is designated the Canonical year. It
is a time to foster the contemplative aspects of her life and to integrate
her own natural rhythms of contemplation, community and ministry, as well
as, participation in spiritual education.
During the second year of Novitiate she shares in the apostolic
ministry of the community and strives to nurture her religious commitment
through further study and service. At the completion of the Novitiate
period, the novice expresses her desire to make temporary vows.

Temporary Profession
The purpose of the time of first commitment of religious vows [temporary
profession] is to prepare for final profession by further integration
and internalization of the values of vowed life in this community and
continued conversion to the Gospel way of life in the pattern of St. Francis
of Assisi. It is a time for broader development of the Sister through
study, service, spiritual development and continued community involvement.
Perpetual Profession
This usually takes place within 3 to 6 years after making her first commitment.
In special cases, the time may be extended up to 9 years.
